Vittorio Veneto Film Festival – Kids and Teens International Film Festival started in 2009. The idea was to create a great Film Festival for young people aimed at connecting talent and culture, giving an opportunity of interaction to the youth and creating workshops to research new forms of artistic expression.
Vittorio Veneto Film Festival is a project on both national and international level. It is aimed at both the young and adult audience, trying to promote quality cinema among a wider public. The festival programme is mainly focused on children, teenagers and young university students. However, it also meets the needs of adults, attracting film art enthusiasts, as well as everyone who is interested in artistic-visual culture, didactics, education, or is merely looking for amusement and fun.
The project is grounded on a permanent activity, based on a network of municipalities, institutions, associations and ever-growing experiences, involving the whole national territory all year around. For these reasons, the vvfilmf is a valuable occasion to suggest new educational paths and, thanks to a constantly updated film programme, it is a chance for school members to exchange ideas and thoughts.
The Festival has been strongly endorsed by the Veneto Region and gained recognition from a number of Italian institutions: it obtained the high patronage of the President of the Italian Republic and was awarded the Medal of Merit from 2011 to 2014. It is under the patronage of the Prime Minister’s Office, in cooperation with the Province of Treviso, the Municipality of Vittorio Veneto and both the Regional and Provincial Education Authority. It is supported by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research, the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In addition, the vvfilmf counts on a solid and influential collaboration with RAI Cinema, RAI Radio2, Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo and with the Venice International Film Festival. Thanks to its high quality standard and professionalism, the President of the Venice Biennale, Dr. Paolo Baratta, and the Director of the cinema section of the Biennale, Dr. Alberto Barbera, entitled the Vittorio Veneto Film Festival to select a group of young jurors and then guide them in the world of international cinema during the Venice Film Festival. It is a great honour for the vvfilmf to be present at this world-famous event and to be the only international festival allowed to bring a selected group of underage jurors to the screenings.
